Incense Holder — Glass and Walnut

The smoke goes straight up.

In an open holder it breaks apart as soon as it leaves the stick. Inside the glass it climbs as one column, slowly, and only spreads when it reaches the top. There is something to watch, which is most of what you want from an object like this.

The ash stays where it falls. The stick burns inside the tube, so nothing lands on the table and nothing blows away — which matters if you have a window open, and if there is a wind chime in it you certainly do.

Lift the glass off to empty it. You will not be doing that often.

Brass column, walnut base, heat-resistant glass. Two of them, so there can be one where you work and one where you do not.

What it is

Base 3.1 in (8 cm) square, 0.8 in (2 cm) tall. Glass 8.7 in (22 cm) tall, 2.6 in (6.5 cm) across. 9 in (23 cm) overall.

Set of two. Incense is not included.

How to use it

Stick the anti-slip pad to the base of the brass column. Light the incense, blow the flame out, and insert the stick into one of the holes — the angled holes let you set how the smoke leaves.

A 14 cm Japanese stick sits well inside the glass with room above it.

Care

Lift the glass straight off and tip the ash out. The glass can be washed; dry it before it goes back on.
