The one you get will not be the one in the photograph.
It is a stone. Someone picked it up, cut a hole in it, and stopped there. They run from about 7 to 10 cm long, and no two have the same shape, colour or weight. The maker says as much, and we would rather repeat it than have you open the box expecting a copy.
The hole takes an ordinary tealight — the size sold everywhere in bags of fifty. Two to four hours each.
If incense is not for you, this is the other way to mark that the sitting has started. A flame does the same work as smoke. It gives your eyes somewhere to rest that is not a screen.
What it is
A natural pebble with a hole carved in it. 7–10 cm (2.75–3.9 in) long. The hole is 3.8 cm (1.5 in) across and 1.5 cm (0.6 in) deep.
Tealights are not included.
Care
Wipe it. It is a rock.
Let the candle burn out before you move it, and stand it on something heat-safe. Stone holds warmth long after the flame has gone.
